Living a Lie

Appearing is a bit like the need for glory. We are all a bit narcissistic and the virtual world currently represents the ideal stage on which the narcissist can show off by giving the best of himself.

Status deriving from a lot of loneliness

Many argue that appearing is probably ultimately the emblem of a status deriving from a lot of loneliness, deep insecurity and lack of self-confidence. Since there is no certainty of one’s own value, the search for notoriety and consensus begins.

The key word becomes ``sharing``

The key word becomes “sharing”. Sharing details of one’s private life, even if banal and repetitive, to seek constant attention and confirmation, on one’s beauty and sympathy, but above all on the possibility of being liked and feeling desired and/or envied. One does everything to always be on stage, on the scene, to be and remain protagonists at all costs.

More and more...

The more approvals, likes, comments he receives, the more the individual will feel gratified, flattered, adored and desired.
By appearing like or better than others, perhaps we feel less alone, or by believing ourselves to be better, we delude ourselves and build a mask that we truly believe in.

We risk losing a precious value

By doing so, however, we risk losing a precious value, namely our individuality, just to enhance an image of ourselves and increase media consensus.
